This tiny choir conductor is a maestro in the making

A precocious young lady named Lara, rather taken with her father’s work as the choir director for the Central Church of Kyrgyzstan, is clearly gunning for his job.

Just check out her passionate conducting technique, which makes up for any sloppiness with raw emotive power. Talk about a commanding presence.

There’s plenty of time to sort out what all those sweeping musical gestures actually mean; for now, we’re glad to see Lara developing her poise and unacanny talent for feeling dynamics and tempo. See you at Carnegie Hall, kid!
