After 509 straight days of vlogging, controversial YouTuber Jake Paul said he’ll end his streak and take a few days off to “help people that are in a lot of need.”
On Monday, an understated Paul—who is known for signing off his daily vlogs with the motto, “It’s every day, bro”—posted a three-minute video explaining his need to temporarily step away from YouTube.
“I’m taking some time to go and help some people that are in a lot of need,” Paul said while soft piano music played in the background. “It requires my full attention, and I have to be 100 percent focused on it.”
Paul said the vlog will be back “very soon,” but he also said he needs to focus on this cryptic task. He also assured his fans that there is no drama, that “everything is OK,” and that “it’s probably not what you think it is.”
He also acknowledged the strangeness of his predicament.
“I didn’t think I would ever stop the daily vlog,” Paul said. “But I asked myself what the meaning of ‘It’s every day, bro’ is. It doesn’t necessarily mean vlogging every day. But it’s smiling every single day. Getting better every single day. Getting better as a community ... Chasing our dreams every single day. To me, that’s what the movement, ‘It’s every day bro,’ is.”

Paul reiterated his departure from the vlog streak in a tweet on Monday.
