FaZe Banks says Alissa Violet did ‘horrible things’ to him

A day after a Twitter thread from social media star Alissa Violet detailed the alleged cheating by her ex-boyfriend FaZe Banks, the popular YouTuber has responded.

And though he mostly declined to make nasty accusations back at Violet, Banks said Violet did “horrible things” to him during their relationship, which ended in July.

In a tweet that reads “Alissa,” he uploaded a screenshot of a long statement that says, “I could spend the next few minutes listing all the horrible things Alissa has done to me and why we didn’t work and why I did what I did. Obviously there’s [sic] 2 sides to every story and neither of us have been perfect. Rather than contribute to all of that I’m going to do the right thing and take responsibility for where I’ve gone wrong in this.”

He then wrote that he did “something really stupid and hurtful” when he and Violet were having problems in their relationship.

Late Sunday night, she said he cheated on her with a woman in the guest wing of their shared house while she slept in their room with their dogs. She also accused him of being unfaithful on multiple occasions.

Banks responded on Sunday with a tweet that read “I love you,” and Violet responded to that by saying, “Did you ‘love me’ when you texted that girl that you were on your way to her hotel room at 6 am to ‘get weird’ while i was sleeping next to you?” She also accused him of breaking eight of her phones and smashing a car windshield.

She also said she had proof of his dalliances.

While Banks didn’t specifically admit to cheating in his Twitter update on Monday, he wrote there “was additional context and it’s not as simple as who’s right and who’s wrong.” Banks wrote the incident happened about a year ago and the two have been broken up for six months but that it continues to haunt both of them.

“We all fuck up, that’s human,” he wrote. “What that girl and I shared was special. One in a billion special. Something that I don’t expect to share with another human for as long as I’m alive. We had issues and couldn’t fix them. We were miserable together for a while and couldn’t ever let each other go. I think I speak for both of us when I say the love was and always will be a very REAL thing.”

Banks and Violet combine for 11.7 million Instagram followers, 9.3 million YouTube subscribers, and 4.8 million Twitter followers, and many of their fans were invested in their relationship (and are now invested in the Twitter aftermath). Banks’ tweet from Monday already has nearly 70,000 likes. But he said he wants to keep the drama off the internet.

He also wrote, “You gotta keep in mind none of the people who saw those tweets know even 1% of our situation,” but that “it’s not their fault, it’s not anyone’s fault.”

Violet, for her part, hasn’t responded on social media since Banks’ lengthy statement.
